Legal Department

Legal stability allows an individual, regardless of his or her housing status, to be an active, working citizen, who contributes to make her/himself, her/his environment, and those connected with it, better.

Legal obstacles (e.g. lack of documents and regularization procedures), tend to drop to the bottom of the priority list when a homeless person has lost hope in becoming an active citizen again, but once she or he wants to give it a try again, the psychological stress and costs in lawyer fees is overwhelming due to the importance of fixing legal issues and a lot of unnecessary bureaucracy to enter the system again.

On our journey to ending homelessness and situational poverty, we focus on helping homeless people resolve all of their pending legal matters in a timely manner.

The sheer lack of information and statistics regarding legal issues that homeless people face in Europe demonstrate the urgency to do greater research on this topic to improve the policies affecting homeless people, who want to be law abiding citizens.

Our department’s goal is for the homeless people, who go through our programs, to thrive instead of just survive.

Key Stages & Support
