Finances Department
Financial stability allows an individual, regardless of his or her housing status, to be an active, working citizen, who contributes to make her/himself, her/his environment, and those connected with it, better.
In 2009, Norway recognized that 15 percent of all its homeless people were victims of debt, and there was reason to believe that the true number is much higher.
On our journey to ending homelessness and situational poverty, we focus on helping homeless people improve their relationship with money, to eliminate a barrier, which could potentially lead to chronic homelessness, and build bridges to greater education, health and housing.
Our department’s goal is for the homeless people, who go through our programs, to thrive instead of just survive.
