Communication Department
Coherent communication allows an individual, regardless of his or her housing status, to be an active, working citizen, who contributes to make her/himself, her/his environment, and those connected with it, better.
On our journey to ending homelessness and situational poverty, we focus on helping homeless people become efficient communicators.
According to FEANTSA, 700,000 people are sleeping rough each night in Europe, which is an increase of 70% in the last 10 years. Most citizens are unaware that there are 11 other types of homelessness, which means that the previous statistic and everyday knowledge on homelessness only represents the tip of the iceberg.
Let's be generous and say 1 homeless person gets an opportunity to voice her or his opinion in the press per day during the year in Europe. Consequently, 0.05% of the rough sleepers, who are the minority within a minority, have a voice.
We believe education and social media are great tools to empower homeless people and connect them with resources and their community, and ultimately end homelessness together through a clearer understanding of their reality and real, long term solutions.
Our department’s goal is for the homeless people, who go through our programs, to thrive instead of just survive.
